Calcium chloride (chemical formula: CaCl2) is a white or slightly yellow solid inorganic compound, belonging to the salt class, is a typical ionic halide, because of its high solubility, hygroscopicity and dehydration properties are widely used in many fields. It is present in different physical forms according to its hydrated form, the most common being dihydrate (CaCl2·2H2O), whose high solubility allows it to dissolve quickly in water, releasing a large amount of heat, making it useful in applications that require rapid heating or drying. In addition, calcium chloride is also commonly used in brine, road ice melting agents and desiccant, including those used in refrigeration equipment.
