Physical:
Colorless or white crystalline powder. Tasteless and odorless. There is micro-hygroscopicity in the air. Sublimation at 452°C. Soluble in water, alcohol, slightly soluble in ether.
Chemical properties: It can be replaced with fluorine and chlorine
It can be heated with a strong alkali to generate ammonia: KOH+NH4Br=heating=NH3↑+H2O+KBr
It can react with acid to form another acid and another salt: NH4Br + H₃PO₄ = heating = NH4H2PO4 + HBr↑
It can react with salt to generate two new salts: AgNO3 + NH4Br = AgBr ↓ + NH4NO3
